6th Meeting of Working Group and 8th Meeting of Steering Group

6TH MEETING OF WORKING GROUP AND 8TH MEETING OF STEERING GROUP

 

The 6th session of the Working Groups for Priority Area 1a – To improve mobility and multimodality: Inland waterways of the EU Danube Strategy (EUSDR) will take place in Vukovar (Croatia) on 28th October 2014. Venue: Hotel Lav Vukovar (J.J. Strossmayera 18, 32000 Vukovar, Croatia).

The event is open to all interested parties and participation is free of charge. We will start on 28th October at noon. The draft agenda may be downloaded here.

The key themes presented and discussed during the 6th Working Group session comprise Waterway Infrastructure and Administrative Processes. This will include the Fairway Rehabilitation and Maintenance Master Plan for the Danube and its navigable tributaries, the TEN-T study on the Rhine-Danube Corridor, initiatives related to shipwreck removal along the Danube as well as projects to harmonise law enforcement and administrative procedures across borders.

Background: Thematic Working Groups were established by the Priority Coordinators together with the Steering Group of EUSDR’s Priority Area 1a in order to coordinate and discuss existing and proposed projects and initiatives related to inland waterways. Working Groups specifically invite the private sector, experts and NGOs.

Members of the Steering Group are cordially invited to the 8th Steering Group Meeting of PA1 a on 29th October in Vukovar (Croatia), 9.00-14.00.

The key themes comprise the Fairway Rehabilitation and Maintenance Master Plan for the Danube and its navigable tributaries, next steps on the Innovative Danube Vessel study and a report on the activities in the field of Administrative Processes. Furthermore, an overview of financing schemes will be given and the results of a study on employment effects of Danube navigation will be discussed.

Please consider that the working group venue is the only available hotel in Vukovar and capacities are limited.
