On June 19th the Ukrainian Institute for International Politics in partnership with the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine and the coordinators of PA1a and PA11 of the EUSDR, with the support of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine, Romania and Moldova, initiated the discussion regarding the simplification and unification of the navigation control procedures along the Danube River.
The purpose of the round table was to develop the steps for the implementation of joint control and security instruments on the Danube River. Several key areas were discussed, in particular, the application of the harmonized DAVID forms, the joining of the transnational control data base ISIBWEB and the participation in future ADN trainings. A big challenge for Ukraine remains: it is a non-EU country which limits the administrative, legal and financial possibilities for implementing common procedures with EU member states.
