MoU on inland waterway transport signed between Romania and Bulgaria

MOU ON INLAND WATERWAY TRANSPORT SIGNED BETWEEN ROMANIA AND BULGARIA

 

On the 11th of October 2012, the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria signed a Memorandum of Understanding on setting up an Interministerial Committee for sustainable development of inland waterway transport on the Romanian-Bulgarian common sector of the Danube.

Among the tasks of the Interministerial Committee are:

to adopt an Action Plan for common projects for improving the navigation conditions on the Romanian-Bulgarian common sector of the Danube and the connectivity between both states
to analyze the bilateral legal framework regarding the maintenance and improvement of the fairway on the Romanian-Bulgarian common sector and proposing amendments or concluding of agreements, as appropriate
