PUBLICATION NOTE: SUMMARIES FOR PROJECTS IN THE FIELD OF INLAND WATERWAYS IN THE DANUBE REGION

 

To collect information on projects and project ideas which are relevant for the implementation of Priority Area 1a on inland waterways of the Danube Region Strategy, the Priority Area Coordinators (PACs) have asked project promoters, project leaders and national authorities to notify their project(s) by means of a.

Based on this information, lists of project summaries have been made available in the Working Groups & Projects section of this website, i.e. for the topics waterway infrastructure and management, ports and sustainable freight transport, fleet modernisation, River Information Services, education and jobs as well as on horizontal actions focussing on transport policies and politics.

Detailed information on single projects will be available in an interactive projects database for inland waterways in the Danube region at this website right after its redesign and relaunch in May 2012.

Please note: The projects included in the project summaries lists have not yet been discussed in the Steering Group of Priority Area 1a (its next session will take place at the beginning of May 2012), i.e. compliance to the actions and targets of the Danube Region Strategy must not be given in every case.

Call for action: According to the assessment of the Priority Area Coordinators, there are still many projects missing in these lists which are of relevance for the Danube Region Strategy, e.g. in the fields of ports & sustainable transport or education and jobs. Please be so kind as to notify the PACs of such projects by using the above-mentioned project data sheet.
