Vessel baptism and National User Forum in Romania

VESSEL  BAPTISM  IN  GIURGIU  |  26TH  MARCH  2019

The Romanian multifunctional marking vessel “Concordia EU 2019”, procured in the framework of the CEF-funded FAIRway Danube project, was festively baptised on 26th March 2019 in Giurgiu (Romania) by EU Commissioner of Transport Violeta Bulc. Karla Peijs, the coordinator of the Rhine-Danube Corridor and Răzvan Cuc, the Romanian Minister of Transport were also taking part in the event and appreciated the effort of the waterway administrations along the Danube. The new vessel will start its pilot operation in April 2019 in the river stretch between Corabia and Bechet.

NATIONAL  USER  FORUM  IN  BUKAREST  |  27TH  MARCH  2019

On 27th March 2019 the waterway administrations of the Lower Danube, namely AFDJ – Administration of the Lower Danube (Romania), ACN – Administration of the Navigable Canals (Romania) and EAEMDR – Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River (Bulgarien), invited representatives of the cargo shipping industry and the river cruise industry to their joint National User Forum in Bucharest. The User Forum provides a platform for industry representatives and waterway administrations to discuss the status of the waterways, ongoing projects and initiatives as well as future challenges.
