SAVE THE DATE: 2ND WORKING GROUPS SESSION

 

The 2nd session of the Working Groups for Priority Area 1a – To improve mobility and multimodality: Inland waterways – of the EU Danube Region Strategy (EUSDR) will take place in Vienna (Austria) on 15 and 16 March 2012 right after Barge to Business 2012, Europe’s premier inland waterway event. Details on the venue, the agenda and information on how to register for this Working Groups session are available here.

Barge to Business 2012: Mr. Johannes Hahn, the Commissioner of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional Policy (DG REGIO) who is in charge of the Danube Region Strategy, will provide a key note address on the Strategy’s inland waterways priority area on 15 March 2012 at noon on the second day of Barge to Business 2012. This will be preceded by a panel discussion on expectations on the Danube Region Strategy. More information on Barge to Business 2012 is available at www.bargetobusiness.eu.

Background: Five thematic Working Groups were established by the Priority Coordinators together with the Steering Group of EUSDR’s Priority Area 1a in order to coordinate and discuss existing and proposed projects and initiatives which are in line with the objectives set for the Priority Area on inland waterways of the Strategy. Working Groups will get together twice a year and specifically invite the involvement of the private sector, experts and NGOs.
