NEED  AND  ADDED  VALUE  FOR  THE  DANUBE  REGION  STRATEGY

The connection is needed to improve port capacities, mobility in the port area and multimodality. Continuing the works on the bridge over the connecting canal and the construction of the connecting roads is a vital need for the development of the island and the area located to the West of the river-maritime basin of the port of Constanta. The bridge is necessary in connection with the development of the “island” area and private investment there.

 

OBJECTIVE(S)  OF  THE  PROJECT

Construction of a road bridge to ensure the connection between the river-maritime area and the “artificial island” in the Port of Constanta.

PLANNED  PROJECT  ACTIVITIES

  • Updates of the old plans and studies
  • Execution of works (road bridge and its connections with the road network of the port of Constanta)

 

TRANSBOUNDARY  IMPACT

The project will increase the accessibility of the Port of Constanta, the connection with the hinterland and will help the development of efficient multimodal terminals in the area of Constanta sea port.

The project is currently under preparation.

 

 

FINANCING

Total budget: 36.1 MEUR
EU funds: 21 MEUR (ERDF)
The project will be submitted for financing from the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme 2014 – 2020 (POIM).
National funds: 15.1 MEUR

Financing is not available yet and sources and amounts are potential only.
