HyQ Danube – Feasibility Study for rehabilitation and extension of the hydrometric stations network on the Danube in Romania

HyQ Danube – Feasibility Study for rehabilitation and extension of the hydrometric stations network on the Danube in Romania

National project (RO) The objective of the project was the identification of solutions and technical requirements necessary for the rehabilitation and expansion of the hydrometric stations network to ensure navigation conditions and improve traffic safety on the Romanian Danube sector. The real-time publication of hydrological data and the realisation of international hydrological data exchange were also part of the study.

Preparing FAIRway 2 works in the Rhine Danube Corridor

Preparing FAIRway 2 works in the Rhine Danube Corridor

Transnational project (AT, HR, RS)

“FAIRway works!” clusters and implements the most mature waterway-related initiatives in the corridor at this point in time. It represents a major step in the implementation of the Corridor Work Plan and will trigger additional investments (e.g. mooring infrastructures in other Danube countries). “FAIRway works!” contributes to different objectives by reducing infrastructure quality gaps and improves efficiency (e.g. Iron Gate lock, improved fairway marking, high-quality mooring places), increasing sustainability (through fostering inland navigation as such, increasing its capacity and reducing travel times for marking trips, offering shore side electricity) and increasing the benefits for its users (quality and availability of mooring places, increased safety at locks, improved surveying information and improved fairway marking).

PLATINA 3

PLATINA 3

Transnational project (NL, BE, FR, AT, HU) PLATINA 3 makes the bridge towards future research, innovation and implementation needs within IWT in Europe. The project provides targeted coordination and support activities to promote Inland Waterways Transport (IWT) in Europe. A key objective is providing the knowledge base for the implementation of the EU Green Deal in view of further development of the EC`s IWT action programme (NAIADES) towards 2030. PLATINA 3 sets up a coordinated, interactive discussion platform of key IWT policy makers, experts, researchers, river commissions as well as representatives from IWT industry, wider logistics (other modes), waterborne industries and other sectors to jointly identify means, measures and tools to promote IWT.
