National project (HU) The NAIADES action programme of the EU claimed the need for a network of national promotion and development centres to improve inland waterway traffic. The aim of this project was to establish such an IWT promotion centre in Hungary.
SuperGreen – Supporting EU’s Freight Transport Logistics Action Plan on Green Corridors Issues
Transnational project (FI, NO, SE, GB, BE, DE, AT, UA, GR, IT, ES, PT, TR) Recommendations for future calls for R&D proposals were elaborated, and implications of alternative policy measures for green corridors were reviewed and assessed, both at local and European level.
NELI – Cooperation network for logistics and nautical education focusing on Inland Waterway Transport in the Danube corridor supported by innovative solutions (project example in EUSDR Action Plan)
Transnational project (AT, SK, HU, HR, RS, RO, BG, UA) The project established a cooperation network between stakeholders from inland waterway transport (IWT), research / education and administrative sectors along the Danube corridor in order to develop balanced capacities for trans-national cooperation in the field of logistics and nautical education and training including regional policy support actions.
PLATINA – Platform for the Implementation of NAIADES (project example in EUSDR Action Plan)
Transnational project (FR, NL, BE, FI, DE, AT, HU, HR, RO) PLATINA was a coordination and support action aimed at the promotion of inland waterway transport (IWT). The main objective of PLATINA was to support the European Commission, EU Member States and third countries in the implementation of the NAIADES action programme.
PLATINA II – Platform for the Implementation of NAIADES
Transnational project (FR, BE, NL, DE, AT, HR, RO) PLATINA II was the follow-up project of PLATINA. The main objective was to support the Commission, Member States and third countries in the implementation of the NAIADES I and II action programmes by bringing together all relevant actors concerned in a broad knowledge network, thereby maximising its contribution to the European policy goals.
Reconstruction of the Kriegenbrunn lock
National project (DE) Several rehabilitation measures were already conducted at the lock in order to maintain its functionality. Until 2024, a replacement construction will be built 45m downstream of the existing weir and lock.
