Construction of multi-purpose Danube-Sava Canal

Construction of multi-purpose Danube-Sava Canal

National project (HR) Currently there is no connection between the Sava and the Danube rivers, except through the mouth of the Sava river near Belgrade, which considerably extends the navigation route from the Sava basin to Western Europe. Connecting the Danube and the Sava, the fairway would be shortened for more than 400 km upstream and about 90 km downstream.
