National project (RS) The main objective of the project is to provide the prescribed fairway parameters on the Sava river between Belgrade and the border with Croatia (Serbian Sava stretch). On this river stretch five major bottlenecks will be removed until 2020.
Deepening of the fairway of the Upper Main
National project (DE) The upgrade of the Upper Main to class Vb is intended to enable a fairway depth of 2.9m, increasing the possible depth by 4 dm. Planning, approval and construction phases are conducted subsequently for different sections and are expected to be completed by 2020.
Deepening of the fairway of the Lower Main
National project (DE) Sole objective of this infrastructure project is the deepening of the fairway on the Lower Main between the Rhine mouth (rkm 0.0) and Aschaffenburg (rkm 84.5), in order to enable a draught of 3.1 m.
Upgrade of the Danube between Straubing and Vilshofen: Pursuing Variant A
National project (DE) Germany and Bavaria agreed on the realization of Variant A for the upgrade of the Danube between Straubing and Vilshofen, aiming to increase the possible draught loaded at low navigable water level by 20cm, from 1.60m to 1.80m. In a first step urgent flood prevention measures and selected activities of Variant A will be realized in the section from Straubing to Deggendorf (subsection 1).
Danube Feasibility Study Phase I. – Technical measures to provide required fairway parameters between rkm 1880.260 and 1708.200 of the Danube
National project (SK) The project will strengthen the sustainability of water transport between the Slovak Republic and other states on the Danube waterway. At the same time, the feasibility study will undertake a first step towards fulfilling the requirement to complete the construction of the TEN-T core network by 2030.
Navigation on the river Tisza and exploring the possibility of construction of a river port at the junction of three borders of Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia
National project (UA) This project would improve mobility and communication between different modes of Transport, by establishing the necessary criteria for an international class IV waterway, construction of hydrotechnical structures and construction of a river port. The project would provide direct access to short and therefore cheaper traffic routes (compared to alternative routes) from the former Soviet Union to the markets of Central, Southern Europe and in the opposite direction.
Improving navigability on the Hungarian section of the Danube: extended study to prepare implementation
National project (HU) The study aims at improving the navigation along the Hungarian section of the Danube by carrying out preparatory studies for the removal of 31 bottlenecks.
Hajózzunk a Dunán! – Improvement of the navigability on the Danube in Hungary
National project (HU) The study was conducted between 2008 and 2011 and aimed to prepare the elimination of fords and bottlenecks on the Hungarian stretch of the Danube (from river-km 1,708 to 1,433).
Development and installation of the navigation monitoring and electronic fairway marking system on the Danube River (AtoNs)
National project (RS) The project's overall objective is to procure and install the equipment for the navigation monitoring and fairway marking system on the Danube River in Serbia. The new navigation buoys will be allocated on the Danube River in Serbia and will be equipped with AIS AtoN transponders that will enable real-time monitoring of the condition of the marking system and at the same time make the navigation buoys visible for all participants in navigation by using the AIS and ECDIS systems on the ship deck.
GrinFleet – Green Inland Fleet
Transnational project (NL, IT, FR, DE, AT, HU) The project would have resulted in co-modal logistic solutions and vessel solutions (hull configurations, power and propulsion trains, special business cases).
