The project consisted of works to enhance traffic management services, modernise on-shore RIS services and improve the quality of fairway information services data.
DSWR – DANUBE SHIP WRECK REMOVAL
Project idea for a transnational project (DE, RS, RO) The initiative intended to remove the shipwrecks from the riverbed of the Danube that might hinder navigation or pose an environmental risk.
Removal of the sunken German fleet from the World War II in sector Prahovo
Transnational project (UNDP, DE, RS) The project’s objective is to improve the conditions for safe navigation on the Danube (sector Prahovo), in particular during the low water level periods by removal of the German sunken vessels from WW II.
Analytic study of the need of a water corridor Danube–Oder–Elbe
National project (CZ) The main target of this study is to analyse the potential of the mentioned new inland waterway link Danube-Oder-Elbe from an economical, ecological, hydrological, transport and social point of view. On the basis of its output decisions would be made on the next steps to be taken concerning this project.
Construction of LNG terminal in Ruse with fuelling facilities for future LNG vessels
The concluded project entailed the construction of an LNG terminal in the Port of Ruse, equipped with a truck fuelling station and a pontoon to be used for the future fuelling of LNG vessels.
Trimodal Linz port – Rail connection and port enhancement
The ongoing project concerns the modernisation and extension of the existing rail and road infrastructure in the port, in order to increase the attractiveness of the port in the TEN-T Core Network.
Construction of the LNG Terminal in the public port of Bratislava
The aim of the project is to ensure the infrastructure for the deployment of alternative fuels in synergy with other projects on scientific research and pilot deployments of LNG vessels, LNG master plan etc. By the end of 2018, a feasibility study will be prepared, laying the groundwork for the construction of the LNG terminal.
Slavonski Brod Port infrastructure construction and upgrade
The project entails the upgrading of the basic port infrastructure, the supporting transhipment facilities and the port's connections with the rail and road network.
Reconstruction of the Erlangen lock
National project (DE) Several rehabilitation measures were already conducted at the lock Erlangen at the Main-Danube Canal in order to maintain its functionality. Until 2028, a replacement construction will be built 300m north of the existing weir and lock.
Overhaul of the lock Kachlet
National project (DE) The designed life span of 80 years is already exceeded and major rehabilitation of both lock chambers as well as the weir complex is necessary. The overhaul project aims to improve the reliability and safety of the navigation lock infrastructure, eliminating the occurrence of long closures and preventing malfunctions.
